From The Heart............

Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more.

You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement.

They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful.

There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are.

The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant.

Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face.

In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you.

You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon.

You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end.

Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.”

This Too Shall Pass

I got a very amazing email.....worth reading and worth sharing..

Money has no memory. Experience has. You will never know what the total cost of your education was, but for a lifetime you will recall and relive the memories of schools and colleges. Few years from now, you will forget the amount you paid to settle the hospitalisation bill, but will ever cherish having saved your mother’s life or the life you get to live with the just born. You won’t remember the cost of your honeymoon, but to the last breath remember the experiences of the bliss of togetherness. Money has no memory. Experience has.

Good times and bad times, times of prosperity and times of poverty, times when the future looked so secure and times when you didn’t know from where the tomorrow will come… life has been in one way or the other a roller-coaster ride for everyone. Beyond all that abundance and beyond all that deprivation, what remains is the memory of experiences. Sometimes the wallet was full… sometimes even the pocket was empty. There was enough and you still had reasons to frown. There wasn’t enough and you still had reasons to smile. Today, you can look back with tears of gratitude for all the times you had laughed together, and also look back with a smile at all the times you cried alone. All in all, life filled you with experiences to create a history of your own self, and you alone can remember them all.

The first time you balanced yourself on your cycle without support…

The first time she said ‘yes’ and it was two years since you proposed…

The first cry… the first steps… the first word… the first kiss… all of your child…

The first gift you bought for your parents and the first gift your daughter gave you…

The first award… the first public appreciation… the first stage performance…

And the list is endless… Experiences, with timeless memory…

No denying that anything that’s material cost money, but the fact remains the cost of the experience will be forgotten, but the experience never.

So, what if it’s economic recession? Let it be, but let there not be a recession to the quality of your life. You can still take your parents, if not on a pilgrimage, at least to the local temple. You can still play with your children, if not on an international holiday, at least in the local park. It doesn’t cost money to lie down or to take a loved one onto your lap. Nice time to train the employees, create leadership availability and be ready for the wonderful times when they arrive. Hey! Aspects like your health, knowledge development and spiritual growth are not economy dependent.

Time will pass… economy will revive… currency will soon be in current… and in all this, I don’t want you to look back and realise you did nothing but stayed in gloom. Recession can make you lose out on money. Let it not make you lose out on experiences… If you are not happy with what you have, no matter how much more you have, you will still not be happy.

Make a statement with the way you live your life: How I feel has nothing to do with how much I have.

A Brilliant Interview

I got this mail and I found it worth sharing.

Some, rather most organizations reject his CV today because he has changed jobs frequently (10 in 14 years). My friend, the ˜job hopper™ (referred here as Mr. JH), does not mind it. well he does not need to mind it at all. Having worked full-time with 10 employer companies in just 14 years gives Mr. JH the relaxing edge that most of the ˜company loyal™ employees are struggling for today. Today, Mr. JH too is laid off like some other 14-15 year experienced guys “ the difference being the latter have just worked in 2-3 organizations in the same number of years. Here are the excerpts of an interview with Mr. JH:

Sangharsh Jari Hai

I want to publish this post 2 yrs back in 2008 but don't know I couldn't do it earlier.............I think its really tough to accpet your failures am not exception. I think sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were to go through our life without any obstacles, we would be crippled. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. Give every opportunity a chance, leave no room for regrets. I am happy cause I can celebrate my struggle.
----------------------------------------------------
Words like recession, economic slowdown, and jobcuts were just a jargon for me, till I had to face the heat one day and joined the thousands who were fired by their companies.

I remember, it was a Wednesday 24th DEC and everything seemed to be going well. I was called by my manager in the evening and was handed over the pink slip. The ground slipped from beneath my feet as my hands trembled and my mind asked "Where did I go wrong? What was my fault?"

With a heavy heart, I walked towards to my desk last time. I was just thinking how would I give this news at my family, to my sister who is staying with me? My family, friends; would they understand or my parents will force me to marry that guy whom they choosed for me who is settled some where in Haryana, where no career opportunities for me.

I get down in my bus, I watched everyone else with tears in my eyes. Everybody looked so happy………….even the sweeper appeared to be laughing at me, saying "You are jobless, but I have a job. I'm still on my feet…………but what about you?"

The clouds of insecurity wrapped me like a blanket. I wished I could go back and scream at people in the office. I felt cheated.

Why me, I wondered.

I imagined myself sitting with the newspaper, searching for jobs, going to various companies, giving interviews, negotiating salaries…….a wind of rejection made my steps heavier. Same as I was doing 3 years before. I took four months to get a good job. For me struggle is I think endless. Now I accept this thing "Jeevan he to Sangharsh he "

While thinking all this my stop came I get down from bus it was a day before Christmas and winters are on peak. I tried to stop my endless trail of tears; my body shivered and made me stops under a tree.

Looking up at the sky, I said my daily prayer to seek blessings from Him. I saw stars are shining weather was little foggy, few birds flying back to their nests. Nature appeared to be talking to me at that moment. The Sun will rise again; the stars will shine again tomorrow; the birds will fly the next day to search for food for their fledglings; flowers would blossom and spread their fragrance. Tomorrow wil come……….and it'll come for me as well. A smile lit my face and dried my tears.

I thought again.New year was approaching. I now had time to spend with myself. I can enjoy with being me can work on my hobbies. I always want to do painting but because of office life couldn't get time, now its time to do. I love cooking though in hostel life it's a bit difficult but yes if I am free then I can do this too.And I love French I can join some online course. And side by side, I could begin my search for a new job, and reach out to better avenues.
I know what I am. And I am confident enough to face any challenge.

There are thousands going through the same mental block……..we can not give up so easily. Recession taught me a lesson; hopes should never die.

I felt as excited as a five year old blessed by Santa. The words of a famous quote echoed in my ears," What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise."

And you are not able to priortize as well

(And its not about things at work but about things that matter more than work in life!)

Sometimes we must Fail in order to know ,
Sometimes we must Lose in order to Gain,

This Too Shall Pass

This Too Shall Pass’ is at the heart of my understanding of things. I pair it in my mind with the words of the wise old man of Ecclesiastes, who said ,” There is nothing new under the sun “.

Someone once said that at the heart of each victory is future defeat , and at the heart of each defeat is a future victory. Everything changes. Everything moves onward, nothing is ‘stable’.

We can rely on just one unchanging thing: the inevitability of change. This perspective can help you get through the bad times. People tend to think,’ This is too shall pass’, in bad times. But it applies to good times, too,and perhaps more valuably. It helps sharpen your pleasure in the moment. God luck and good times should be seized, enjoyed, reveled in, for they won’t be here forever, and it would be ungrateful not to appreciate them while they are.

My career was kind of low and depressing for a while. Nothing that I was doing was working. I thought, ‘This is a bad time. I have to keep doing my work, keep attempting to produce something that is meaningful and that I respect. Then I became so engaged by my work and my thoughts that I sort of forgot to remember that I was in bad times. I started believing I was in a peaceful time, with fewer demands. I could find more coherence, more depth, in the other spheres of my life.

Then good times came, as good times will. Though it was not on career front it was on personal front. I thought : ‘Great, keep going, by the way, let’s go to a nice restaurant and toast my god fortune, But when you know this too shall pass, it has a way of tempering your ego. You’re not doing well because you are the best at what you do. You’re doing well because you are still trying to do good work, and a good time came and lifted it up.

So next time happiness comes your way, take a moment to send a little thank you note, pause to breathe in the joy before it disappears into infinity.

All this applies in one’s personal life of course. If we are alone. People will enter our life. If we are surrounded by friends. Someday it will be less crowded around us. If we ever have a broken heart. It will heal. Everything changes.

All we have to do is the best we can. A high wave comes,a crushing waves comes, a gentle swell follows. Whatever comes, stay in your boat. And enjoy the ride. And row.

Wonderful story................

I found this story worth sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Priya married Hitesh this day. At the end of the wedding party,
Priya's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook.
With Rs.1000 deposit amount.
Mother: 'Priya, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage
life. When there's something happy and memorable happened in your new
life, put some money in. Write down what it's about next to the line. The
more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I've done the
first one for you today. Do the others with Hitesh. When you look back
after years, you can know how much happiness you've had.'
Priya shared this with Hitesh when getting home. They both thought it
was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be
made.

This was what they did after certain time:
- 7 Feb: Rs.100, first birthday celebration for Hitesh after marriage
- 1 Mar: Rs.300, salary raise for Priya
- 20 Mar: Rs.200, vacation trip to Bali
- 15 Apr: Rs.2000, Priya got pregnant
- 1 Jun: Rs.1000, Hitesh got promoted
..... and so on...

However, after years, they started fighting and arguing for trivial
things. They didn't talk much. They regretted that they had married the
most nasty people in the world.... no more love...Kind of typical
nowadays, huh?

One day Priya talked to her Mother:
'Mom, we can't stand it anymore. We agree to divorce. I can't imagine how
I decided to marry this guy!!!'
Mother: 'Sure, girl, that's no big deal. Just do whatever you want if you
really can't stand it. But before that, do one thing first. Remember the
saving passbook I gave you on your wedding day? Take out all money and
spend it first. You shouldn't keep any record of such a poor marriage.'

Priya thought it was true. So she went to the bank, waiting at the queue
and planning to cancel the account.
While she was waiting, she took a look at the passbook record. She looked,
and looked, and looked. Then the memory of all the previous joy and
happiness just came up her mind. Her eyes were then filled with tears. She
left and went home.

When she was home, she handed the passbook to Hitesh, asked him to spend
the money before getting divorce.
The next day, Hitesh gave the passbook back to Priya. She found a new
deposit of Rs.5000. And a line next to the record: 'This is the day I
notice
how much I've loved you thru out all these years. How much happiness
you've brought me.'
They hugged and cried, putting the passbook back to the safe.

Do you know how much money they had saved when they retired? I did not
ask.I believe the money did not matter any more after they had gone thru
all the good years in their life.

Don't see the place where you fell, Instead see the place from where you
