Sister's Wedding & Related Thoughts

Preparing for my sister’s wedding is what’s all over my mind from last one month. I was so so busy couldn’t write a single post from almost a month. She is my younger sis and so this is the most awaited event for us after my wedding.
Mini’s wedding was the most awaited event in our house and every one were so very excited. This includes especially me. I was bit apprehensive about the cold weather there but all went really well.

All went pretty well, at least better than my expectation.Wedding was in Dec first week and I managed to get 10 days off and Ritesh got 6 days off. Which as-usual does not sound sufficient to my sister and my parents. But I could not manage more.

This was the first wedding for Ritesh in my side of family and so perhaps Ritesh was more excited. He wants to be at his best. And this has resulted in a LONG LONG shopping list.
Men are men when it comes to shopping. So inspite of everything, shopping was irritating for him in my household. I really wish to order and get delivered , apparels and accessories just as grocery Last month , every weekend was(some times week days too) gone in shopping and handling one tired men (some times irritated too) ;-).
But yes our hardwork(for shopping) was not wasted we both were looking stunning.......;-)

This wedding also gave a chance to Ritesh to meet my family closely and spend time with them. Since we stay quite far from our relatives, we only get to meet out parents in the little vacations we get. Meeting other relatives always remains on wish list only.

Weddings are really special for me.It gives me chance to meet people and chit chat. I enjoy the laughters in the house. I love the childhood stories that people come out with when they meet long lost uncles and aunts.I get to hear my childhood stories , some of which I have already heard 10 times.

Its already a week from the wedding and we are still in the same mood. I am still getting dreams from the wedding, still feeling tired and sleep, laundry is still waiting and there is still a unpacked suitcase. All what we did since we are back is downloaded and uploaded pics.

Having a new member in the family is always a mixed feeling. Anupam (the groom) is cute and cheerful. He is mature and smart. I hope, I wish and I believe that he would gel along well with our family, Keep our fingers crossed.

My sister is not too younger to me.In fact we have never shared a Elder Sister-Younger Sis kind of relationship. But still , inspite of me being married , it is hard to imagine that She is getting married. I mean , I never thought she is such a grown up girl. I know she is 26 , I know she is mature , I know she is intelligent, I know she is settled in her career, job etc , but MARRIAGE ? It is funny , and I wonder how would my parents feel to see us getting married , when even I feel the way I do And I wonder, will I be ever able to imagine my future kids growing too old to get married. Infact , I guess now I know why mothers get insecure with daughter in laws …hehhehe.

But fact is life moves on faster than we can imagine. No wonder I would be writing the same kind of story in future.
As of now, I wish them all the best. May they continue to find love, happiness and solace in each other’s company forever.

Now that the bride and groom are on their long honeymoon and its a Tuesday today. I think its high time to be back to work.
